Privacy Policy

We have written this Privacy Policy (version 30.09.2019-111173167) to explain, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), what information we collect, how we use data, and what choices you have as a visitor of this website. Unfortunately, such explanations are naturally quite technical. However, we have made an effort to describe the most important points as clearly and simply as possible.

Automatic Data Storage

When you visit websites today, certain information is automatically created and stored, including on this website. When you visit our website, our web server (the computer on which this website is hosted) automatically stores data such as:

  • the address (URL) of the accessed page
  • browser and browser version
  • operating system used
  • the address (URL) of the previously visited page (referrer URL)
  • hostname and IP address of the device used to access the site
  • date and time

in web server log files. These log files are usually stored for two weeks and then automatically deleted. We do not share this data, but cannot exclude that it may be reviewed in the event of unlawful activity.

Cookies

Our website uses HTTP cookies to store user-specific data. Below we explain what cookies are and why they are used.

What are cookies?

Whenever you browse the internet, you use a browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Microsoft Edge. Most websites store small text files in your browser, called cookies.

Cookies are very useful helpers used by almost all websites. HTTP cookies are small files stored by our website on your computer and are automatically saved in your browser’s cookie folder. A cookie consists of a name and a value, and may contain one or more attributes.

Cookies store user information such as language settings or personal preferences. When you revisit our website, your browser sends this information back, allowing the site to recognize you and restore your settings.

There are first-party cookies (set by our website) and third-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). Each cookie must be evaluated individually as they store different types of data. Cookies can last from a few minutes to several years. They are not software and do not contain viruses or malware.

Example cookie data:

Name: _ga Value: GA1.2.1326744211.152111173167 Purpose: distinguishes website users Expiry: 2 years

Minimum browser support requirements:

  • At least 4096 bytes per cookie
  • At least 50 cookies per domain
  • At least 3000 cookies in total

Types of cookies

There are four main types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies
Required for basic website functionality (e.g. shopping cart).

Functional cookies
Collect information about user behavior and error messages and measure performance.

Targeting cookies
Improve user experience by storing preferences such as location or form data.

Advertising cookies
Used to deliver personalized advertising.

How can I delete cookies?

You decide how cookies are used. You can delete, restrict, or disable them in your browser settings. You can also configure your browser to notify you before a cookie is set.

Data protection

The EU Cookie Directive requires user consent for storing cookies. In Austria, this is implemented under § 96 para. 3 of the Telecommunications Act (TKG).

More technical information can be found here: RFC 6265 HTTP State Management Mechanism.

Storage of personal data

Personal data you transmit to us (e.g. name, email, address) is used only for the specified purpose, stored securely, and not shared with third parties without consent. We use your data only for communication or to provide our services. However, we cannot guarantee security if data is sent via unencrypted email.

Rights under the GDPR

You have the following rights:

  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to notification (Art. 19 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Right not to be subject to automated decision-making (Art. 22 GDPR)

You may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: https://www.dsb.gv.at/

Evaluation of visitor behavior

We may analyze visitor behavior anonymously. No personal conclusions are drawn from this data.

TLS encryption with HTTPS

We use HTTPS to securely transmit data (GDPR Art. 25). TLS encryption ensures secure data transmission and is indicated by the lock symbol in your browser.
